wow Heart! I’ve always been against guns because my girlfriend was shot and paralyzed by her boyfriend. Of course he’s long out of jail and living a great life, she’s still a quadrapeligic and suffers.
But re-thinking my position Heart. Its not the gun who harmed her, its the man. I wonder if all women in the USA armed themselves and started defending themselves to the full extent of the law maybe some would think twice?? JaneVM is right, there’s a war on women. I do believed it a part of it starts at home. My husband teaches our son to respect women, our little guy even holds the door for his sisters. My husband leads by example. He’s kind, caring, gentle and very loving. Respect and appreciation shines through. What are some of these guys exposed to in life that brings the violence and rage out? Why the need to take and harm women & children? My heart is angry for Somer Thompson and fearful for Elizabeth Olten.

Now a different father ran over his daughter with his car because she had become too AMERICANIZED he said. She is 20.Also hit another woman with her – not sure if boyfriend’s Mom.
I knew a wonderful woman from Iran. The WAY they treat women over there – OMG!!! Similar to how Philip treated JayCee. They think of them the “SAME WAY”. She had a very large inheritance over there, but was afraid to go back, afraid that she wouldn’t be able to get out again.
Her daughter: She was here. Boyfriend also from Iran. She became pregnant from him, and he told her “YOU GET AN ABORTION OR I AM LEAVING YOU!!” HE WANTED HER TO WORK, OF COURSE.
Her son: He was younger. He came over later. He lived with her. She sent him to school to learn English, bought him clothes, and 2 beautiful suits. She brought him to where I worked, great Club. They had a nice evening – dinner. After he learned to speak English well, and got a job, he left her LIFE, and doesn’t talk to her nor his sister. HE HAD JUST *USED HER* AS THEY ALL DO! My friend, always worked at least 2 or 3 jobs when I knew her. Hairdresser, made gorgeous children’s clothes, (for Weddings etc.), and was becoming a Dental Assistant too. Worked very hard!
She always got incredibly upset and sad at the same time, when she talked to me about”home”. IT TRULY MUST HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE! NEVER GAVE DETAILS … ALWAYS CRIED A LITTLE.
Well, IF you send your little girl OUT of your house, ALONE, that might be the last time you ever see her. Whether or not she is going to school, or a friends house … THIS SEEMS TO BE WHAT *IS*!

WHO KNOWS WHAT THESE BABIES GO THROUGH? ONLY THE METHOD OF MURDER COMES OUT. I am not interested in the details (too painful to read), BUT I WOULD HOPE LE FINDS OUT, AND THE JURY GETS THAT INFORMATION!

I was out in the streets most often – SIX night a week. I knew my odds would not be with me … forever.
When a great girl athlete, daughter of a Cop was killed out where I was working, ENOUGH!!! It was summer, she met her High School friends at Smokey Joes for some talk, and to catch up. Her name was Amiee Willard. This huge KILLING MACHINE followed her out of the club, and onto a long woodsy, winding exit ramp. There was one spot you couldn’t see from top or bottom roads. Cut her off and bumped her car. Her body was found in a lot in Philly. He was caught trying to enter another female’s apartment. He had also done his car “bump” previous times too. If that ever happened to me, I would signal and come on follow me and head for a Police Station. Did that one when being followed home from work. OR at least a very busy place – all lit up. Would try to get behind him too to get the license #.
Patty … if NOTHING changes, then NOTHING is going to change. Simple as that. Action not words is necessary now. Enough is ENOUGH! Next week, who will it be? And will they ever find Morgan, the beautiful girl who VANISHED from the Concert?
I never liked guns either, ever. But I wouldn’t like being tortured, raped and killed either. I made my choice! Thankfully, I never had to use my gun … yet. Not bad for a widow who lives alone to have a gun either? (NOT ME).

This is outrageous! I just got on the computer and ANOTHER little girl, Elizabeth Olten.
WE CAN NOT let our children walk anywhere alone anymore. That isn’t fair, but like Heart said “this seems to be what it *is*. Even Sandra Cantu couldn’t skip down the street within the confines of her mobile home park in broad daylight. Or Somer Thompson.
I guess we have to hire bodyguards for our children to walk around outside while the parents are working.
CAP, my son was an only child. We decided to send him to a Quaker School for Nursery. Very nice school.
One day one of the mother’s was frantically running around, saying her CAR was stolen with her purse in it!! It was on the school property. The school was in Germantown, which was starting to get a little “rough”. Everybody knew it. The school though, and the Nursery building, and the play yards, and the property were all secluded – but not enough I guess.
She saw me and talked to me about it. She said “I don’t LIKE to THINK that someone could DO THIS … and on our School Property!”
I thought to myself -
AND NEITHER DO I, but I *NEED* MY CAR! SO I LOCK THE DOORS – AND I TAKE MY PURSE WITH ME BECAUSE MY LIFE IS IN IT, AND I CAN’T AFFORD TO LOSE!! I HAVE MY KEYS IN IT, WALLET, CREDIT CARDS, I.D., ADDRESS (THEY WOULD HAVE MY ADDRESS AND KEYS TO MY HOME!!!), ETC. I DON’T LIKE TO THINK THAT WAY EITHER, BUT WHAT *IS* – *IS*!! GOOD GRIEF! SOME HAVE TO LEARN (WHAT IS) THE *HARD WAY*! I did a couple times when young, and decided that’s not for me. Too “expensive”!!

What a great set-up for pedophiles or squatters. Abandoned house. Don’t have to sit in the streets watching, or stand leaning against a tree, lurking, looking suspicious … waiting for the prey.
The could wait inside that house, daily, waiting for just the right time when a single child comes along as in the case of Somer? Then whatever their plan was, puppy appears on a long leash to entice her over to the house? I don’t think the houses are close together… IF they could get her to come over close to the house on her own … better chance of not being seen. Then, at night, put her into a car.
No kidding. I think somedays living down here its strange to have an HOA in our neighbourhood. In Canada we have nothing like it. THEN AGAIN I THINK WOW one of our board members live next door to us and is a HITLER for rules. THANK GOD he’s watching our every move because he sees all and knows all. I’d rather have a Hitler watching if we’ve placed our garbage out at the right time than have no one watch at all.
YOU KNOW WHAT WE DID THIS WEEK? I went to 3 mothers who wait for their kids to get on the bus but I realized they’re NOT WATCHING their kids get off and come home. I went to them and said YAH KNOW its just as important for us to see them get off the bus and walk back into our home as it is to see them start their day. How about we take turns. Now we set out a schedule. One mama is at the bus stop before the bus arrives afterschool.
Little steps to make sure our kids get home safe and stay alive. GOD HELP US that we live in the world we do but its the parents who have to be pro-active. NO PLACE is safe for our babies. May all the evil burn in hell for what they do to children.

Well thanks to great sleuthers online, I’ve learned to research everyone around me. I have not found any criminals in our neighbourhood and thankfully our subdivision does not have a single child molester but there are 3 directly outside of it. For me, I can see the bus stop from my home. If I don’t see one of the moms there, I’ll be watching. After a few life experiences, I fortunately or unfortunately am hyper alert. Some days it makes for annoying moments but I’d rather be annoying than not be involved. AMEN TO YOU HEART for being here and alive and safe. I’m amazed at your strength & tenacity.
And Kudos to you too Pattycake. YOU have taken action and possibly saved a child from a traumatic experience or worse. Even so, you and the other mothers will have peace of mind.

I heard there was a ping from a cell phone in the woods from missing child Elizabeth Olten but it no longer pings believing the battery died. Did she fall and hit her head? Did she break a leg and unable to get home? Gosh I hope so…I woke up thinking about her praying today is the day they’ll bring her home alive. God help these babies.
I know now Somer’s parents both work. She was “pretty safe – the 3 siblings walking home from school together. BUT Somer broke rank. She ran ahead, upset – argument – something. Just heard on the news that the last place she was seen was in front of that abandon house.
AND Morgan too. She was with her friends. She broke rank also. She left – ALONE to go to the bathroom in a huge place like that. Someone called the Jane VM program and said “When we were in College, when we went to the Powder Room, we always went in pairs, EXCEPT IF there was going to be a “guy” involved.” However it happened – ANOTHER WEAK LINK. She didn’t take her ticket and couldn’t get back in. I wonder if some kind of date rape drug was used, by some “good samaritan”, or some group of guys, who offered to relax a minute, and discuss the problem – HELP her? WE are so vulnerable when alone. That’s HOW they like us.
They MUST *ALWAYS* be out there, circling, trolling, looking for that WEAK LINK so they can POUNCE on our children!

OMG I have such a hard time reading this story Beast. Its just the ultimate of horror for all parents of missing children out there. To think the worst of the worst of your nightmares for your child came true? Being held as a sex slave in a backyard forced to bear children? It doesn’t get any worse. I’m sorry for my next statement and if it hurts anyone but I feel death would be a welcome relief and going to God before living 18 years of utter hell on earth.
I’m sure her mother has gone through a plethora of emotions and then some. Being happy Jaycee is back for good, having two beautiful sweet grandbabies already teens themselves yet the helplessness of knowing all the years of nightmares that haunted her were in fact true for her little child.
Jaycee obviously faces obstacles NO psychiatrist has ever prepared or studied for…
If other reports are true, it sounds like (GOD I PRAY ITS TRUE) that Garrido never touched those teens ever and Jaycee has not been raped in years. At least that is some level of relief? I don’t know the right word.

A very smart Detective of Cop said they should follow the trash trucks that pick up the trash from Dumpsters where Somer was. They did. They were able to find her body very very early. Evidence, plus more around it – not like poor Caylee, totally decomposed.

mother’s plot to blame a stranger for killing her sons went awry when one of the boys survived and told police how Michelle Kehoe cut his throat, then moved on to his younger brother, an Iowa prosecutor said Thursday.
Police found the 7-year-old covered in dried blood in the family van the morning of October 27, 2008, in a secluded area near a pond east of Littleton. Beside the van, his 2-year-old brother lay dead, his throat also slashed.
“She cut me,” the boy said in a high-pitched voice in an audio recording that was played Thursday in Kehoe’s first-degree murder trial.
Kehoe, of Coralville, Iowa, has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and child endangerment causing serious injury. Before the trial, her lawyers filed a notice of intent to present an insanity defense, according to court records.
Kehoe’s lawyers chose to reserve their opening arguments for the start of their case.
Dressed in a blue and white striped blouse, Kehoe frowned as she listened to her son’s voice on the recording, occasionally bowing her head.
The boy had locked himself in the van overnight after his mother slashed him and his younger brother the previous day and left them for dead, Assistant Iowa Attorney General Andrew Prosser said in his opening statement.
Kehoe then walked to a nearby pond and attempted to kill herself by slashing her throat with the same weapon, a camouflage-handle Winchester hunting knife she bought the month before, Prosser said.
When it became apparent she was not going to die, the prosecutor said, she staggered half a mile down the road to the nearest home and told a story she’d concocted weeks before of how a stranger abducted the family, killed her sons and tried to kill her.
But when authorities went searching for the stranger, they instead found her 7-year-old son in the car and his younger brother dead outside the driver’s side.
“Do you know where you’re injured at?” Deputy Stephen Peterson asked the boy in the recording.
“Just my throat,” the boy said.
“Who did that to you?”
“My mom.”
The boy said his mother also put duct tape over his eyes, nose and mouth, but that he pulled them off after his mother left him.
“She was hurting my baby brother,” he said.
Kehoe began plotting the attack the month before with the purchase of the knife and the duct tape, Prosser said. She allegedly chose the date of the incident to coincide with when her husband, Gene, was scheduled to take a yoga class, telling him they were going to visit her mother at a nursing home in Sumner.
Police also say they found signs of a cover-up at the scene, including pieces of a first-aid kit scattered around the scene and a handwritten note documenting the attack, Prosser said.
The note detailed how a man broke into the car when the family stopped at a gas station and forced them to the area where the van was found. Kehoe tried to fight him off with pepper spray but he knocked her unconscious, the note said, according to the prosecutor.
Police said Kehoe later told them she had written the note in the midst of the attack to explain what had happened to those who would find the scene, according to the prosecutor.
“And the note, which you’ll see, ends with, ‘Oh no, here he comes again…’ ” Prosser told the jury.
Kehoe faces life in prison without parole if convicted of first-degree murder for her son’s death.

The cell phone was found by Elizabth’s body,so it wasn’t robbery??? I say she’s DAMAGED and TRY her as an ADULT! LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE!PERIOD!!

I never buy Buttermilk, but some recipes call for it. Here is how to make it:
BUTTERMILK
1 cup whole milk
1 TBS. white vinegar (or lemon juice if you don’t have the white vinegar)
Let sit for 5 minutes. Stir.
I sometimes want Sour Cream and don’t have any. Here’s how to make it:
SOUR CREAM
3/4 cup yogurt
1/3 cup melted butter
Refrigerate 45 minutes.
Will be good on top of baked potatoes/chives. (I grow my own).
HEART HINT:
When having a big Holiday Dinner, you don’t have to make your mashed potatoes at the last minute!
Can make them in the morning. Make “looser” than usual. (More cream or milk than usual.)
Before dinner time, warm them up in the oven. They will “thicken” up due to the heat of the oven!!
AND do you have one of those GRAVY/FAT separators? GREAT things!!! Just pour your gravy in, then pour it out. The FAT will stay in the bottom of this wonderful gadget. Less than $20. TERRIFIC!!!!
